The Tricky Boys and the Dividends of Democracy.

The 2023 election has once again proven beyond any doubt that indeed the masses are the owners of power. How the big actors travel to the nooks and crannies of rural communities to canvass support is a lesson to be learnt by those who undermine the voices and collective will of the people at the grassroots.

The promises made by these politicians no longer motivates the people as much as the money and bags of salts and other well meaning items to the stomach do. This is because they have had and heard enough of unfulfilled promises and yet these bigger boys do not have any atom of remorse but still come to them for support.

For the common people, this is an opportunity to make as much as possible from the overflowing tap of the national treasury knowing too well that after March 2023 and perhaps final verdicts at the Supreme Court, the streets will return to its vicious bites of hunger and state of penury.

It will interest you to know that the past few weeks had been about abrupt moves of reconciliation,  renovation of trust and commissioning of mindbuying tasks that will convince electorates on who to support.
This is the strategy and energy candidates employ to win an election. From this point it should be clear to the masses that their interests and that of the candidates can never be in alignment.

While the candidates are seeking self glorification and the votes of the masses, they have equally made the possibility of these masses to attain some level of independence and recognition very slim. The structures you see them building now cannot translate to any thing beyond what it is for the moment, else they would not have abandoned the tools they used to get elected.

During election period they carry themselves to the masses but immediately they get what they want, the masses now undergo protocols before accessing them. In most cases it is until another election year before one could see his representative.

If we must enjoy the dividends of democracy, the youths ought to take it upon themselves as forerunners  in the reshaping process of our dearest country. Our parents need to know the truth behind the seasonal flow of kitchen condiments. Irrespective of party, the right people should be elected to represent the average and less privileged in the society.

I have taken it upon myself to canvass support for good candidates from across party lines and I enjoin you to do same.

This is a call to as many youths who have been supporting politicians and party blindly to desist from such and apply wisdom.
But as usual, if the peanuts you are get from them as compensation is enough for your future, please go ahead with your plans for them.

Needless to say, our educational system is deteriorating on a daily basis and these crop of undeserving leaders do little or nothing about it. They send their family members abroad while the cost of living and education is instantaneously on the rise with no efforts to reward those who have served the country.

The youths should rise up and look beyond this period. This period is a trick.

In making this country a better place, you must take decisive steps and one of such is ensuring you get your Permanent Voters Card(PVC) and voting the right people into office.

This country is ours and any negative action we execute will affect all of us.

Let us get the right things done and done swiftly.

DEMOCRACY DAY: THE REMAINS OF A DECAYED NATION AND THE WAY FORWARD.

On 1st October 1960, the Nigerian people could not hold their excitement as they finally broke out from the shackles of colonialism, slavery, and the imperial rule of the Queen of England. For the longer years of intimidation, infringement of human rights, desecration of the traditional Nigerian society, exploitation of natural resources and introduction of systems that at best worked against the Nigerian people and the misunderstanding and war between the amalgamated protectorates. The first Republic coming to an early end through coups and counter coups was unplanned and unforseen. In fact, it was disastrous and deadly was its consequences. Attempts to eradicate bad governance led to the above mentioned fatal experiences and all hopes for change placed on the civilians coming back to occupy the seat of power were a mere imagination.  The June 12th, 1993 Presidential election was considered in the history of Nigeria's politicking as the most free, credible and fair ele...

FRIENDS

The above title refers to those  we cherish so much so that before we make some pressing decisions we always consult them first and sometimes putting our families very far. Before taking this further, let's see some definitions of who friends are, the roles they're supposed to play and in the long run why you should keep one or runaway from one.  So the Advanced English Dictionary has these things to say about "Friend (s)" •A person you know well and regard with affection and trust. •An associate who provides cooperation and assistance. •A person with whom you are acquainted. •A person who backs a Politician or a team.  Going through the definitions we've gotten so far, the very first thing to cross our minds is the fact that before someone is called a friend, he or she must possess certain qualities and characteristics. These qualities and characteristics are the potential factors that builds and strengthen the bond of friendship.  Before considering some of thes...

Agricultural needs of Igbo Imabana Community.

Igbo Imabana City Gate. IGBO IMABANA: WHAT WE NEED AS A PEOPLE. (PART ONE) •AGRICILTURE In the last two decades of my conscious existence within Abi and precisely Igbo Imabana town, I've learnt so much about the values, norms and culture that is being upheld by these group of communities that make up the region, politics wise. Igbo Imabana Community is located in the North Eastern part of Abi Local Government Area and known for her rich soil which made the inhabitants to adopt/sustain agriculture as main occupation. Also, given the fact that right from time immemorial, agricultural experience within the location was used to validate different levels of attainment of status in the society. "The bigger your yam barn, the level of respect you earn". In those days, my mom will tell me: "food was never part of our problems. We had different varieties of yam, cassava and so on, in abundance. During our new yam festival, you will see differ...
