ONENESS IN MARRIAGE

     Photo: Emmanuel Richard (Author)

When you want to marry, choose a woman/man that understands what being "ONE" means.

I have seen a lot of men struggling day and night to keep their families going and unfortunately for such men, they're joined in holy matrimony to women who aren't appreciative. Instead of helping their husbands, they criticize their efforts and at the end bring nothing to the table themselves.

A situation where a woman stays at home from morning to night and all she does is wake up, bath, eat and sleep is practically termed "juju" except otherwise.

When a man allows all the home bills to his wife because she's more of a giver, she's more financially stable and he himself fails to go out to struggle for his family, it's pure negligence of duties and responsibilities.
That one is more than "juju".

Being hardworking doesn't mean killing yourself for your family but bringing something tangible to the table each time the need arises.
This applies to the man and woman as "One flesh".

DEMOCRACY DAY: THE REMAINS OF A DECAYED NATION AND THE WAY FORWARD.

On 1st October 1960, the Nigerian people could not hold their excitement as they finally broke out from the shackles of colonialism, slavery, and the imperial rule of the Queen of England. For the longer years of intimidation, infringement of human rights, desecration of the traditional Nigerian society, exploitation of natural resources and introduction of systems that at best worked against the Nigerian people and the misunderstanding and war between the amalgamated protectorates. The first Republic coming to an early end through coups and counter coups was unplanned and unforseen. In fact, it was disastrous and deadly was its consequences. Attempts to eradicate bad governance led to the above mentioned fatal experiences and all hopes for change placed on the civilians coming back to occupy the seat of power were a mere imagination.  The June 12th, 1993 Presidential election was considered in the history of Nigeria's politicking as the most free, credible and fair ele...

FRIENDS

The above title refers to those  we cherish so much so that before we make some pressing decisions we always consult them first and sometimes putting our families very far. Before taking this further, let's see some definitions of who friends are, the roles they're supposed to play and in the long run why you should keep one or runaway from one.  So the Advanced English Dictionary has these things to say about "Friend (s)" •A person you know well and regard with affection and trust. •An associate who provides cooperation and assistance. •A person with whom you are acquainted. •A person who backs a Politician or a team.  Going through the definitions we've gotten so far, the very first thing to cross our minds is the fact that before someone is called a friend, he or she must possess certain qualities and characteristics. These qualities and characteristics are the potential factors that builds and strengthen the bond of friendship.  Before considering some of thes...

Agricultural needs of Igbo Imabana Community.

Igbo Imabana City Gate. IGBO IMABANA: WHAT WE NEED AS A PEOPLE. (PART ONE) •AGRICILTURE In the last two decades of my conscious existence within Abi and precisely Igbo Imabana town, I've learnt so much about the values, norms and culture that is being upheld by these group of communities that make up the region, politics wise. Igbo Imabana Community is located in the North Eastern part of Abi Local Government Area and known for her rich soil which made the inhabitants to adopt/sustain agriculture as main occupation. Also, given the fact that right from time immemorial, agricultural experience within the location was used to validate different levels of attainment of status in the society. "The bigger your yam barn, the level of respect you earn". In those days, my mom will tell me: "food was never part of our problems. We had different varieties of yam, cassava and so on, in abundance. During our new yam festival, you will see differ...
